The Iseas project studies a number of solutions for the fleet to adapt to this new regulation and to mitigate the economic costs, including an automatic system of sorting and storage of fish on board and an application to avoid fishing areas with the highest proportion of discards. EU Project Finds Use for Fish Discards
The results of the EU-funded SECUREFISH project, which has trialled new methods to incorporate fish discards into nutritious and health-promoting products, were discussed at an agrifood parallel session of the EU’s Bioeconomy Investment Summit, held November 9 and 10 2015 in Brussels.
